On Thursday, October 8, 2026, the Data Office at King Khalid University conducted an awareness workshop titled “Data Analyst Tools.” The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the key tools and technologies used in data analytics and introduce their functions, areas of application, and role in improving analytical efficiency.

The workshop covered the main stages of the data analyst’s journey, beginning with data collection, preparation, and cleaning, followed by querying, statistical and programmatic analysis, and concluding with data visualization and the development of reports and interactive dashboards.

It also introduced a range of tools and technologies, including Excel, Google Sheets, Power Query, OpenRefine, KNIME, and Alteryx, alongside SQL, DBeaver, and DuckDB. Data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik Sense were also presented, in addition to several tools for statistical analysis, programming, and data quality validation.

This contributes to developing technical knowledge and promoting effective data practices.

The workshop was delivered by Mr. Abdulkhaleq Alshadidi of the University’s Data Office as part of the Office’s ongoing efforts to promote a data-driven culture, raise awareness of data analytics tools, and enhance the use of modern technologies to support data-driven decision-making.
